Brandes en Meurs industrial design was founded in 1988 by Michiel Brandes and Michiel Meurs. In 1996 Michiel Brandes quit designing to pursue a career in music. Michiel Meurs continued under the original name, and built a team of designers and engineers around him. The team now has 7 members. Occasionally the team is complemented with apprentices and students.
